real life applications using the quadratic formula

I think God must have been in a really bad mood that he came up with something called math to trouble us! I’ve spent days working on this math problem which relates to real life applications using the quadratic formula and I still can’t solve it. I’m particularly having problems with trigonometry, perfect square trinomial and hypotenuse-leg similarity. Can anyone show me the way on how to go about finding a solution to such problems? I’ve tried all ways that I could think of, but none helped. I need some urgent help now. Anybody?

Hi! I guess I can help you out on how to solve your assignment. But for that I need more specifics. Can you elaborate about what exactly is the real life applications using the quadratic formula assignment that you have to work out. I am quite good at solving these kind of things. Plus I have this great software Algebrator that I got from a friend which is soooo good at solving algebra assignment. Give me the details and perhaps we can work something out...

You are so right Algebrator it’s the best math program I’ve ever tried!. It really helped me with one rational equations paper work. All you have to do it’s to copy the problem, press on “SOLVE” and it gives you a good explained solution. I really like this program and always recommend it. I have used it through several algebra classes!
