adding,subtracting,multiplying, dividing mixed numbers worksheet is my biggest problem. Can some one help me understand it? I am a beginner at it. What book or other resource do you suggest for starting this subject?

Don’t be so disheartened . I know exactly what you are going through right now. When I was a student, we didn’t have much of a hope in such a situation , but these days thanks to Algebrator my son is doing wonderfully well in his math classes. I found out a a few software programs that are relevant . I tried them out. The Algebrator turned out to be the best suited one for roots, binomial formula and least common denominator. It was also trouble-free to work with . It took me step by step towards the solution rather than only giving the answer . That way I got to learn how to solve the problems too. By the time I was finished, I had learnt how to work out the problems. I found them of use in Remedial Algebra, Pre Algebra and Pre Algebra which assisted me in my math classes. May be, this is just what you are looking for. Why not try this out?

Algebrator is a easy to use software and is certainly worth a try. You will find many interesting stuff there. I use it as reference software for my math problems and can say that it has made learning math more enjoyable.
